Born in Madison, Tennessee, Anne moved to Indianapolis as a child with her family and has spent the majority of her life here. She grew up in the church and stated, “It’s always been a place I’m comfortable.” Anne attended North Central High School and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Ball State University. She was the Associate Youth Director at St. Luke’s UMC for five years before taking some time off to travel and explore life in a RV!
Although she has been successful in other endeavors, Anne felt called back to the church – a place where she can best use all her gifts and talents. “I felt led back to the church because it’s a place where I can be creative, walk alongside others on their journey and be part of a larger community.”
When asked what inspired her to work with youth, Anne enthusiastically replied, “Youth are just great!” She went on to share that youth have many ideas and thoughts that often get over looked by some adults. “Their desire to learn more and grow with God always inspires me to try harder. I love their willingness to try new things, learn new ways of experiencing God, and their openness to serving others.”
Along with her passion for working with youth, Anne brings a love of music. She is a singer/songwriter and loves to attend concerts in the summer. She especially enjoys artists such as Jack Johnson, Indigo Girls and Dave Matthews. She is also an avid reader and enjoys photography and traveling.
